Cthulhu Saves the World + Breath of Death VII are now available on Steam! They’re even doing a 10% off sale for the first week! No “Buy 3, Get 1 Free” deal however – they nixed that at the last minute.

You can find them here and here.

They’ve also created forums to discuss the games. You can find the Cthulhu Saves the World forum here and the Breath of Death VII forum here.

  1. The second I saw the games in the Steam Store I was interested, watched a few screenshots and bought the double pack. I’m a fan of old rpgs like lufia, secret of mana, terranigma, ff and the whole bunch since they were released and your games are worthy to be named within the same sentence ; )
I already finished BoD7 and been enjoying Cthulu for the past few hours and it’s even better than BoD.
Thank you very much for bringing your games to Steam for I would have never heard of them otherwise 😀

  2. Just a comment to GDI, GamersGate isn’t a client like Impulse or Steam, just a download wrapper/installer so once it is installed you don’t see anything from GamersGate again. You can also choose to save off the temporary files as an archive if you don’t want to have to download later, otherwise it deletes the temp install files.

  3. Each time I start up BoD on Steam, it performs first time setup. And starts the XNA installer, which only has “repair” and “remove” install options, as it’s already installed.

  4. Really glad to see they’re selling so well! Very exciting! I was a little worried, after how difficult the Steam process seemed, that you might not want to use them again in the future. It looks like it was worth it. 🙂

  5. Aw, man, the two client services I don’t have installed (Steam and Gamers Gate)

Per chance will this be released on Impulse or directly on the site?

  6. Not to be picky or anything, but now three distributors have dedicated pages about each game, and this blog has none.

  7. One bug I noticed while playing my copy from Gamersgate: the menu of CStW says that I can’t play the game with Director’s commentary until I beat the game once, but I am able to do it, even though I’ve never played the game before.

  8. Oh, and your Homepage, Developer, and/or Manual names/links are missing from the Properties window (as seen at the bottom after right-clicking the games in the list).

  9. Since you seem more involved, there’s an oddity that’s cropped up from XBLA migrant Winterbottom that seems to be happening for these two games, too. A “0 bytes”-large file refuses to validate right. For BoD, it’s “BoD.vdf”, and for CSTW, it’s “CSTW2.vdf”. (For curiosity/comparison/comprehensivismness’s sake, Winterbottom’s is “installscript.vdf”.)

  10. Purchased! I had the originals from XBLIG, but I hate the online requirements of XBLIG. Also picked up a second copy from Gamers Gate. Steam is nice for convenience, but prefer the Gamers Gate DRM free for future security. Looking forward to your next game!

  11. Just bought the double pack on Steam since we don’t get Indie games in Australia. Looking forward to playing through them. 🙂

  12. Heck yeah. Just bought.

The aspect ratio/resolutio seems to be messed up in windowed mode, though.

  13. As soon as I saw this game on XBLIG, I purchased it. I played that version for over 80 hours. The entire game was just as perfect as I could want. When the Kickstarter started, I was only sad that I could not give more. When you were kind enough to let me beta test the PC version, I was ecstatic. I am positively jubilant that your game is now on Steam, so that even more people can play it. Good job, Zeboyd.

  14. Good luck with everything Zeboyd! I’m doing my best to get the word around, and gave out a 4pack from GamersGate and even my Kickstarter steam codes!

  15. Congratulations for the game’s release.

Cthulhu seems to have a minor bug on Steam: the menu says the Commentary option is only available after you beat the game once, but I’m able to select it just fine, without having even previously played the game. It’s not locked at all.
