We’re pleased to announce that The Beginning of the End free update/DLC for Penny Arcade’s On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 will be coming out for PC next week on Thursday, December 20th, just in time for all the Mayan doomsday festivities. We’ll be doing our best to get the updates for the other versions of the game out there ASAP but due to the content update approval systems in place on the various platforms, they won’t be coming out at the same time as the PC version update. When we have firm dates for those, we’ll let you know.

The Beginning of the End update adds a new playable standalone scenario to the game. This scenario can be accessed at any time from the Title Menu but for story reasons, we recommend playing through the main game first. The new scenario better connects the 1st two games with Rain-Slick 3, however it’ll make a lot more sense if you play it after you beat the main game.

By our estimate, the new scenario should take most people about 90 minutes to play through (longer if you play on one of the harder difficulty levels). It features a new playable character, new maps, new enemies, new abilities, and even a couple new songs. We hope you enjoy it!

  1. I wasn’t sure the best place to ask this, but will the iOS version ever get cloud save functionality? I just got an iPad and I want to play the game on it without starting over.
    Thanks!

  2. I’m impressed that you’re putting so much professionalism into this DLC, and yet, unlike most professional DLCs, this is free.
