To be honest, I didn’t see a whole lot of interesting new kickstarters this week. The only one that really caught my eye is for a new Broken Sword game. I haven’t played any of the Broken Sword games (not a huge point & click fan although I like Capcom’s recent entries like Ghost Trick & Phoenix Wright and I used to be a big Sierra Online fan), but I’ve heard good things. The kickstarter is up to $167k ($400k goal) with 28 days to go so they’ll probably make their goal.
One kickstarter I missed earlier that deserves attention is Mercenary Kings. A 2D Action/Shooter in the style of Metal Slug, it’s being developed by many of the people responsible for the excellent Scott Pilgrim vs. the World game that was released a while ago on XBLA & PSN. They’re up to $60k ($75k goal) with 20 days to go so they’re in good shape.
It’s not technically a kickstarter since it’s on Indiegogo, but I’ll make an exception this time – Dreamcast Worlds is a book written by Zoya Street that “will expand my 30,000-word MA thesis written at the Royal College of Art on the RPG Skies of Arcadia, into a book covering three different Dreamcast games.” It’s up to $1,745 ($5,000 goal) with only 7 days left so this is one that could definitely use your help.
That’s it for this week!
