  1. Is there any news on when or even if you will be patching the game so Umi reverts back to normal as I am stuck with a white haired Umi with only half her maxhealth and only able to equip sharpe

  2. I have heard that Cthulhu Saves The World is available in the mac App Store, but it wont come up when I search for it and when I click a link to open it I just get a message that says that what I am looking for is not available in the store. I havent been able to find any info on this anywhere. Does anyone know anything about this?

  3. I’m having some probelms, when I play CStW it’s constantly freezing during dialog, battles, etc. is there any way I can fix that?

  4. Hey Robert. I had just installed the latest update to cstw not too long ago. After completing a couple battles, i noticed that my Umi character reverted back from a lvl 18 to a lvl 10 (losing all the perks of the higher level as well), and that she was also listed twice in my party configuration…I’m not sure what happened, it seems like some kind of glitch or bug; is there anything that can be done? Super frustrating.

  5. Hey!

Are there any plans on releasing this on steam for macs as well? As it’s available on mac app store and such.

    Regards

    Jonas

  6. I recently got a fifth party member so I now have the option of switching members. However, any time that I do, Umi loses almost all of her abilities and most of her HP/MP while her hair turns white. I’ve read some posts that kind of talk of bugs similar to this. I just started a normal new game, no special modes or anything, but now it seems like I will either have to always keep the same 4 party members or never use Umi again. Is there some way to fix this?

  7. Would appreciate dungeon maps. There are too many loops and it because tedious to find my way around. Has anyone made them? I mean, spoiler-free maps.

  8. Does anyone know if there is a way to port saves from iphone to ipad and back again? Or even better a way of making it happen automatically?

  9. Also, another thing. On my first playthrough I had to fight a big BRIDGE that was evil right after the three heroes (lol, hero LIGHTS) but in all my other game throughs I’ve met another boss there instead – some sort of star fish. Why is this?

  10. This is unparalleled the funniest game I have ever played. I mean that! This is… oh man…!

Where can I get the soundtrack? I hate using youtube 🙁
ALSO! Will there be a Cthulhu Saves the World Again in the near future?

  11. i love this game, please guys do some more rpgs, i miss these type of games. any chance of a ctulhu saves the day part 2? maybe with some references to other monsters in the ctulhu mythos, new storyline, more characters. pleaseeeeeee!!!! also if you can implement gamepad support that would be awesome

  12. It may have been a bug or glitch on my part, but with CsTW, if you go into Cthulu’s angels mode, get up to roughly Kingsport, and change your party around to where October isn’t in the first slot (I did Molly, Elona, Umi, then October) after you reload you will have more than 1 October in your party; the other character poofs into the mists, and you’ll have 2 October sprites.

Other than that, I bought both BoD VII and This and am loving both of them! Keep on making awesome games like these, and I’ll keep buying em!

  13. I”m liking the game a lot so far. Two issues- First, the beginning text said something about saving at any time, but I can’t find an option to do so except at the white glowy save points. Second, I can’t get out of the game except by quitting. Using the Windows key should let me switch from game to other windows, and it does show me the bottom bar where the icons for those other pages are, and when I mouse over them, they come up on the screen. However, if I select one of those other windows, it just goes back to the game. Frustrating. I can’t save and quit, and I can’t get out of the game to do other stuff another way.

  14. One of the previous commentators mentioned the difficulty, which I have to admit is a bit steep, especially early on where I was easily getting killed by random battles in the Beach Cave. However, this is Cthulu (the main reason I bought it) and it’s an old fashioned RPG the kind I have always loved. I am still playing it, and still giving it a chance.

I absolutely love the humour and giggled myself sick just during some of the opening and rescuing Umi. Can’t wait to try Breath of Death VII afterwards. I bought it ages ago as a two-pack on Steam, and due to computer issues hadn’t played it until now. I’m very glad I did wait, cause I’m enjoying it tremendously despite that first aforementioned bit about the difficulty. Anyways, keep up the great work!

  15. We need more classic style RPGs. As an RPG Maker user, I see that today’s RPGs are getting impractically fancy and essentially devolving from what we have come to love.

  16. The previous comment let me take a look at the game again (perhaps the 2 comment should be merged)
I just grinded -a bit- more and finally got the boss, and now having fun again.
Strange, how the boss after is weak, by the way.
Exept for those few balancing issue, i love it (again) especially the humor, in fact.

  17. Since there is no forum, i’ll just say that some boss (hint, ape princess) are really too much on the hard side.
The invincible add and the always-hit-in-first boss make it impossible if we havent grinded ten bazillion hours before.
its gamebreaking, i didnt touched the game since then :/

  18. Can this game be bought for PC in hard copy somewhere? Have some friends who wouldn’t be using Steam. Additionally, delivering this game in hard copy form adds to the whole nostalgia feel that this game has. I’m totally enjoying this game, and I’d like to share it with more!

  19. Just wondering if Zeboyd realized this game & Breath of Death 7 got reviewed by Totalbiscuit and got a pretty favorable review a week or two ago. Especially Cthulu. It’s fun listening to a commenter break into laughter. It was part of a live marathon but he’s posting the individual vids now. The Cthulu one was just posted on his Youtube channel.

  20. I just downloaded the game on 360 this afternoon, and it’s a blast, but something has me confused. Umi stopped being a trident-wielding mage and now I can’t equip her with weapons other than Sharpe (this doesn’t seem to make sense). She does a ton more damage than Cthulu or Sharpe and I don’t know what is going on- is this a glitch? Also her hair is white.

  21. A fun reminder of my High School Days. Very fast paced, kept me happy. now my Son is playing another classic RPG (The Seventh game in of of square popular titles) and he loves it despite how long I told him it will take to play. he hated it before because it was so long and required him to read.

CStW is short sweet and worth every penny and then some. I’ll be buying more copies soon as steam gifts for many of my friends really soon.

  22. LOVE the game but do i need to buy an xbox360 controller to play it right?Pls add some support for us pc non xbox player an our controller 😛 And syncing with steam cloud of the savegames too!

  23. Well… this game would be fun if adapted for the Iphone. This damn gadget lacks proper RPGs… Anyone’s with the skills and will to work on that? I’m sure you would find a public.

  24. Who thinks that Cthulhu is the spit of Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest?

  25. Bought from XBLIG after a praising mention on the podcast “RebelFM”. Finished it yesterday. Not a JRPG fan at all, but am very familiar with Lovecraftian stories and characters, so had to give it a go.

Great job Zeboyd! Played it in a couple of sittings (just one more dungeon, then I’ll go do work, I would say)
Flawless execution guys…..maybe MS will get going on actually supporting IG one day so games like this don’t fly under the radar!

  26. This is a random question – I bought Cthulu Saves the World on Steam, and I’d like to be able to sync my game saves between my desktop and my laptop. I can’t seem to find the save game files. Is it possible to do this?

  27. Last week I bought Cthulhu Saves the World on Steam and I love it but since yesterday I’m not able to start the game anymore. When I try to play the game from Steam CSTW.exe starts but only runs for about half a second and that’s it. Do you have any advice on what to do or will it be a reïnstall (and losing my progress)?

  28. Sorry if this will be treated like a double post or something, but due to the lack of an edit button I’m just going to have to post a new message 🙂 Just wanted to drop by and tell you guys that I’ve started to gift a couple of copies of CStW and BoD7 to my friends, in order to spread the message that your games are awesome and also for you to profit more and then become able to make the best possible sequel (or what ever project you are working on now) =D.

So again, thank you for such wonderful games Zeboyd, can’t wait to see what you will bring us in the future.

  29. Hey I’m really looking forward to playing this game, I just downloaded it off Steam, however I can’t seem to get it started. I finished installing it and now when I try to start it up it says “This program has stopped working” and then gives me the bit about how Windows will let me know if there’s a solution (LOL YEAH RIGHT, I won’t hold my breath on them figuring it out). Anyway, I’d really like to play this, so if anyone can give me some pointers that’d be great. My computer definitely is good for the System requirements, so I have no idea where to go from here.

  30. I can’t seem to find a support forum: The following errors happens as the screen with the full game name (and moon background) fades to black:

  31. This game… is amazing! I only bought the game on Steam because I thought “2 euros.. hell I’ll give it a go”, and I expected that I wouldn’t spend more than ten minutes in the game. I was wrong. When I finally got to play the game, I was instantaniously hooked and I played it for 3 hours straight. I’m almost done with the storyline now, and the game hasn’t disapointed me once so far 🙂 Can’t wait to be done with this one and move on to Breaht of Death VII: The Beginning. I do realize that CStW is meant as the sequel to BoD7, but I didn’t know that back when I purchased the double pack.

Thanks for some wonderful, cheap games Zeboyd!
