Biggest new crowdfunding game project of the week isn’t kickstarter but I’m going to include it anyway. The Skullgirls devs asked for $150k to add a new character to their fighting game and they were able to raise that money rather quickly. They’re at $262k as of now with 27 days left to go. If they reach $375k, they’ll add an additional character (Big Band, the first male character to be added to Skullgirls) and if they reach $600k, they’ll add a third new character, as voted on by supporters. Based on how quickly they’ve reached $262k, I’d say that $600k stretch goal is looking quite possible.

Not a whole lot of interesting new projects on the actual kickstarter this week, but I thought this one sounded fun. Another Castle is a cross between a platformer and a rogue-like. Normally, I’d think this was just wishful thinking but the video they have for the game looks very promising so I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. 3D visuals with a 2D retro feel, fun items to pick up and use, and randomly generated levels and world map are some of the neat features they’re showing off. It’s currently at $4k of its $12k goal with 28 days left to go.

That’s it for this week!

EDIT: Was just informed that Race the Sun has a new video showing off their game that looks DRASTICALLY more fun than the previous video. If you’d like to support them, they still have 5 days left to raise $20k (at $5k right now).
