  1. Very good and worth well over the $3! I first bought this on the 360 when it first released and immediately bought the double pack once I saw it on Steam. I love the story and it is definitely clever. The Junji Ito reference brought such a huge smile to my face.

Keep up the great work and I cant wait to see what you guys have coming up next!

  2. Both of these games are great, so much fun and so much humor, this game broke the 4th wall, built a 5th wall and broke that one too but it did it perfectly allowing great game play, awesome humor, and fun times to remember

  3. Best money I spent on Steam was for this game. I absolutely LOVE it and like most of the above posters, I’m not a huge fan of turn based RPGs. The retro feel is exactly what I needed . I feel like the video game world has turned into nothing but flashy graphics and complicated game play.
Thank you for making such an excellent flashback to less complicated times.

  4. This game is absolutely briliant. worth more than just $3..

thank you for your this very funny and fun old JRPG

  5. Oh! And btw! You could possibly spread your revenue by-…naaaaaah you all probably have it covered! 😀

  6. I am quite worried that my computer won’t be able to play the awesomeness that is this game! I have the money to buy it, there’s just the question of if my Compaq Presario f700 laptop can TAKE it! XD I need to learn about computers…

  7. ********* REQUIRES WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER TO RUN *************
If, like many geeks, you’ve disabled WMP in Windows 7, the game will crash to desktop after the intro sequence. Fix via and hope that WMP doesn’t hijack anything useful.

Also, can’t to another application while CStW is running.

  8. Hi there,

Would you consider allowing the Tv Series “Supernatural” to show your Game on a film set?

Please give a call and I can tell you more

    Suzi Le Voguer

  9. Please port this to the PC. We’ve got a lack of Cthulhu since Bethesda canned their series of him.

  10. You should definitely get over to Xbox live arcade games, trying to get achievements on this would be great!

  11. Wicked game! Reminds me of the countless hours I spent grinding away in Final and 7th Saga and the like. Thanks Bob!

  12. I love these games. A nice throwback to that era of VG RPG’s. Something I can pick up, enjoy, and put down when I have to rejoin life. Just perfect. Please keep making more, if you have the desire to do so.

  13. This is my type of game. I love Lovecraft’s works and I love 4th wall breaking humor. Strangely, I usually don’t like turn based RPGS, but I really enjoyed this. Excellent game, love it. Probably one of the the best 3 dollars I’ve ever spent.

  14. I Agree with Nathan, I played the trial, and as soon as the time ran out, I purchased and carried on for another couple of hours!

The strangest thing is that I don’t usually even like turn based RPG’s something about this hit the spot though!

Congratulations on making the first indie game I have purchased! And Thank you for the hours of fun its giving me!

  15. Dude, please please please please bring this to PC!!! Steam, direct download w/ paypal, this is just too awesome. Kudos. But please bring this to PC!!! I’ll be your best friend.

  16. First off, I was going to post in the XBox message boards, but there doesnt seem to be a forum there for this game.
Ok, for me a RPG needs to have a good story, and good game play mechanics.Obviously, the mechanics becomes a debatable issue, but regardless.
I don’t remember when I got the trial of the game, but I do remember that as soon as I tried it out, I liked it instantly. So much so that by the time I ran into Umi at the beginning of the game, I instantly got the full version. I know enough of the story about Cthulhu to realise the comedy and irony of the situation.
I never had a conversion from trial to full go that quickly before, unless I already knew the game and it was a remake or a port from another system or PC.
I am surprised that you are only asking for $3, because I would have easily paid $5.
I am on chapter 5, and I have so far loved the humor and story pacing. The graphics are a great feel for the game, and the sound and music fit the game extremely well.
The controls and menus are extremely easy, yet useful with all things. That seems to be one of the biggest issues with games, especially RPG’s.
I really hope that you are able to make some real money off this, and I will be telling people about the game.

  17. I don’t normally buy indie games but Cthulhu Saves the World might be the first I grab. Reminds me so much of Dragon Warrior and Phantasy Star. Can’t wait for a release date. Happy Holidays

  18. WHEN IS THIS COMING OUT!? My god im so sick of waiting. Delay after delay. Id rather have a set date in 6 months than constant delays.

  19. Pretzel –
Both Breath of Death VII and Cthulhu Saves the World will be getting PC releases as a combo pack. It will take us probably a little while to port the games, so they will arrive some time after CSTW is out on Xbox Indies. However, they are coming to PC so don’t worry about lacking a 360 console 😉

  20. Sigh. Sadly i’m a broke older gamer and I seriously can’t afford a 360 as I’m also a single father! Now if someone was totally wonderful enough to port your two amazing looking games to STEAM….. (HINT HINT). So the question is, WILL they ever be ported to Steam? That would rock my world. I love old school style RPGs and these look beyond awesome. It just saddens me that if I never own a 360 that I’ll also never get to play these awesome RPGs :-(.

  21. Just finished BoDVII and enjoyed it more than a hell of a lot of games I paid 20 dollars and up for on 360 (games by “pro” developers). Can’t wait to play this!

  22. I just finished Breath of Death, and it was one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I’ve had in a long time. I was just sad it was over. The new game sounds fantastic and I can’t wait to get it.

  23. I wish it was 5 minute soon, and though all of the important components of the game are done, we’re just trying to make sure that it’s polished. It will be a few more weeks but we want to make sure that it’s the best game we can produce within the scope of the project; and the game has a much, much larger scope than BODVII. 🙂

  24. So just for further clarification, is that soon as in five minutes soon, or soon as in “you’ll be all grown up soon” ? 🙂

  25. Wow looks pretty neat….the graphics are definitely nostalgic as well as the music….

Gotta keep my eye on this one! =)

  26. …Sweet. Super excited about this one. Day one purchase? Most likely.

Breath of Death VII is awesome, and this looks to be even more so. My only complaint about BoD is the music being slightly lackluster, and this new battle music is pretty darn good, so I have high hopes. Chiptune version plz?

  27. wow – this looks like a big jump from Breath of Death VII (which was already cool). Definately gonna try it!!

  28. They talk about Cthulhu on Major Nelson’s podcast. You should make sure they’re fully aware of this game so they’ll mention it on the show.
I think the one guy named his dog Cthulhu.

  29. Oh boy, Oh boy, Oh boy! This is currently the game I’m most excited for at the moment. Breath of Death is one of the best RPG’s in the last several years.

I hope this product is just as special, and I can’t wait to buy it. (Oh boy, Oh boy, Oh boy!)

  30. Have you considered licensing your engine? I may be interested.

  31. Freaking Awesome- day one purchase for me. 1st game where you actually play as cthulu. This is gonna top breath of death for dman sure and i loved that.

  32. This looks awesome! I bought Breath of Death VII on a whim and loved every minute of it, and I can’t wait this!

  33. This is cooler than anything i could have possibly imagined. and I can imagine a lot! I am so buying this first day of release.

  34. Breath Of Death was awesome. Well worth a whole dollar lol. This game by far would be worth 3 bucks. Its gonna be a great summer early fall for this classic RPG fan.

  35. I can’t wait I enjoy your RPG’s even though you already know that. I can say I wish other gaming companies were this smart to bring back retro RPG arcade games. Instead of the really boring ones. I look forward to all future releases of your RPG games. If you all have a banner for your RPG games in future email them to me I support 100%
