Hopefully, I’ll get data for a few more days later today. EDIT: Added Jan 2nd & 3rd data.

In other news, we’ll be releasing a patch for Cthulhu Saves the World in a few days. This will just fix a few bugs we’ve discovered since release – it won’t add any new content. We may do a patch later on that adds some new content – haven’t decided yet.

  1. Great to hear the game is selling well. Besides the treasure chest bugs, I found other possible bugs:

    1) If you buy a weapon and then find the same weapon in the cave (in this case Sharpe), you don’t see the second instance of it. There is no inventory count like “weapon x2”.

    2) Every time I used Umi’s Seal spell (80% chance to work on all enemies), it crashes the game. The Xbox 360 reports error code 4.

    Otherwise, great game.

  2. After the patch goes live, the game will automatically require you to update it the next time you play it.

  3. This may be a very stupid question, but it is one I haven’t been able to find an answer to. How do we download the patch?! Is it something that happens automatically?

Love this game, btw. The more I play it, the more impressed I am. I think this will be a long burn as far as sales go. Word of mouth may not reach as many people as other forms of advertising, but nothing sells a game better than your buddy telling you how awesome it is.

  4. We’ll find out what kind of effect the Joystiq article/review had tomorrow (it came out just after the cut-off for yesterday’s sales).

  5. Yes, the Astral Cave stuff is fixed in the patch. The fake chest has been removed and the boss chest that gives the wrong equipment gives the right one.

  6. Any chance you can tell us the in game fixes if they pertain to treasure chests? That is basically the only place I found issues was in chests after you get the 7th party member.

Other than that, thoroughly enjoyed the game. Really liked all the optional dungeons, as I am a huge fan of optional content.

  7. Awesome games. I haven’t played through BoD nor CStD, but i’ve put some time into each and I really enjoy the writing and nostalga. And they are both fun and challenging to play. Looking forward to your future efforts. Good luck!

  8. Thanks for a awesome game. Just beat it on hard difficulty and enjoyed it from beginning to end.

  9. Hey I hope you dont mind but I added you as a game developer on giantbomb.com

    Keep up the good work!

  10. Not a bad start for being part of the indie section of xbox live. Honestly, if it weren’t for rpgamer I would have had no idea about breath of death VII, and that’s one of my favorite games of this past year.
