Cthulhu Saves the World + Breath of Death VII is now available for purchase on Gamersgate for a mere $3 (or your local currency equivalent)! You can purchase the game here. There’s also a 4-pack for $9 option (for sharing the game with your friends) that you can pick up here.

I’ll post when the game goes up on Steam (later today).

In the meantime, Rock Paper Shotgun wrote an article about the game that you can view here.

Also, check out the new trailers we made for Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII!

  2. Absolutely loved the trailers for the games. Well, now back to Cthulhu’s Angels mode…

  3. Hi all, I just recently bought Cthulhu Saves The World (and BoD VII) from GamersGate, and they seem great. Apparently the games only support the keyboard and X-Box 360 controller.

    It’s not really a problem for me, I just wanted to say, for anyone who doesn’t know, that there is a really great program out there called X-Padder which allows you to map keys on the keyboard to buttons on a USB Joypad. I, for instance, have a SNES controller which has a USB port on the end, and through X-Padder, I have the appropriate keyboard keys mapped to buttons on the SNES controller. So I can play both games with a SNES controller, which I find very comfortable and convenient.

    Basically it’s good for using joypads for games which don’t support them. Hope this information is useful.

  4. Hi All!

    I was really getting frustrated there (both games had no music, windows xp), but I finally fixed the issue, so here’s what I did (in case you have the same issue):

    – uninstalled the games and Net Framework 4 and XNA;
    – ran windows update and installed all updates (including optionals);
    – updated sound drivers (I have a ATI Radeon HD 5670)
    – rebooted machine everytime it prompted me to;
    – and installed the latest windows media player (I already had 11 but I dowloaded it from Microsoft and installed it again over the current version which was already 11…), I didn’t uninstalled windows media player since it didn’t allow me to, it’s weird since it said it didn’t have updates (…Microsoft in a nutshell :().

    I think the last step was the one that did it, I had tried all the steps RainbowDespair suggested in the forums before, except for the windows media player one, so if you have the latest version of windows media player, install it again! It should fix it.

    If any of you has a steam account (I bought them on gamersgate), then please post this info on the “Music doesn’t work” forums for both games since I don’t have an account.

  5. Not sure you can expect achievements and more on a 3 dollar pack of 2 games that feature a ton of content already.

  6. Hi guys! I’ve been monitoring this website after “Cthulhu Saves the World” was announced, since “Breath of Death VII” wasn’t available for Xbox Live in my country.

    Today I acquired both games in gamersgate!

    But I can’t get any music in any of them 🙁

    Any thoughts?

  7. I just got the Steam version; there seems to be a problem with the First-Time Setup.

    I already have XNA 4 installed, both the runtime and the Windows Phone Developer’s Tools. But when I ran Breath of Death for the first time, when it got to the XNA installer, it just ran as if I hit the .exe myself, asking if I wanted to repair or remove the XNA runtime. I’m at the moment trying First-Time Setup with Cthulhu, and I bet I’ll find the same problem.
    Basically, what’s supposed to happen is that if XNA is already installed, nothing will happen, right?

    Also… are you going to implement Steamworks features like Steam Cloud or Achievements? (And if Achievements, will at least some of them be retroactive?)

    Ok. Here we go, same thing with Cthulhu. XNA is already installed, and it runs the installer as if I did it manually. I think there’s some command-line switch to prevent this problem, but I don’t know what it would be.

  8. I bought the steam version, but it has no music! The sound effects play, but there is absolutely no music.

  9. Steam seems to be missing the multi-license pack? I was gonna grab that one tonight and give one to a friend (as well as hopefully give you larger payday).

  10. hi! 2 questions:
    its now on steam available too. but only single, no 4-pack. will you add 4 pack too?
    is it possible to activate the game from gamersgate on steam?

  11. The moment it hits Steam I’ll be there. I hope a lot of people get to play it this time.
