The new versions of Penny Arcade’s On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 are now up!

You can get the iPhone/iPad version here.
You can get the Mac version here.
You can get the Android version here.

The free DLC for the game is now available on Steam and will be available for the XBLIG version sometime this day (if it hasn’t updated already). You may need to log out of Steam and log back in before the download will begin.

The Mac version of the game is not on Steam yet but we’re working with Valve to get it up ASAP. Not sure if it will come out today (they’re really busy over there at the moment what with all the new games coming out this time of year). I’ll let you know when it goes up.

  1. Is it really available on Steam? I try to download it, it shows up in my library with no file transfer, and the error says it’s corrupted. Doesn’t matter how many times I download.

  2. I’m actually getting a bit concerned about the non-release of the mac version on steam so far; I was under the impression that it would only be a few days… has there been some kind of setback?

  3. According to Mr. Boyd’s Twitter page, a bugfix for my aforementioned Rain-Slick 3 problem has been sent to the Microsoft people for approval. Hooray!

  4. I just finished Penny Arcade Ep 3 and it was an incredibly well developed game! Immensely better than CSTW which itself was a really good game. Keep up the good work!

  5. To Focusphobia:

Seems I’m not alone in encoutering this bug. Hopefully it’ll be fixed sooner rather than later.
Until then, may all players encountering my problem continue to shout “Bug report!” like the Red team Sergeant.

  6. I have the same problem as Mathew Haswell (#4). After all, if the magic door really wants to keep us out, there’s probably more conveniant way to do it.

  7. Ok, I understand, makes sense now. They want the game to be as bug free and crash free as possible when they start supporting a device. Well I just hope it doesn’t take a super long time for them to get to my device, but we’ll see.

  8. TinkerHouse are continuing to try to add additional Android device support as we can. What they and we are trying to do is make sure the game runs well and properly on each device we list as supporting. It can be difficult to support so many devices and flavors of OSs with Android for such a small indie team (TinkerHouse is also a tiny indie team), as obtaining so many devices to test and bug-fix on can be tricky and expensive, even with volunteer testers with various units. What we want to avoid is selling Rainslick3 to a lot of people on devices we haven’t tested only for the experience to be totally buggy or crashing or otherwise dysfunctional. I hope you can understand.

  9. I’m in the exact same boat as Sean – game is finally released and is flagged as incompatible with my Motorola Droid Bionic running Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.4).

Is something amiss? Is future compatibility expected? Or am I just out of luck?

  10. When playing a new game, following this update, the game crashed a number of times when trying to enter the Hark Manor area. Specifically during the “Front door is sealed with magic” cutscene, I was returned to the Xbox 360 dashboard after being quoted a “code 4 error”. This happened to anyone else?

  11. I’m in the same boat, been looking forward to having the game portable since the announcement only to find my phone isn’t compatible. I’m running a Droid Charge and haven’t come across this issue with any other app, even ones that are rather demanding. Out of curiosity I checked the market on my friend’s Droid 3 and found it isn’t available for them either. I’m hoping this is an oversight that will be corrected shortly, I understand the Android user base is rather splintered so I’ve got a lot of faith that it’s only a matter of time.

  12. I was so excited to see this post so that I can finally buy Rain-Slick 3 for my android device… then to my dismay I go to the google play store and it says the game is incompatible with my device. =( It says 2.1 and up required and mine has 2.3.5!?!? I have a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate. I’ve been waiting to buy this game for my phone and now that it’s out I can’t. Is there a reason mine is not compatible?
