A kickstarter that is rather relevant to our interests went up soon after I posted last week’s kickstarter report. Cryamore is an Action/RPG featuring beautiful hand drawn art & wonderful music. They did a good job setting their kickstarter up with a well designed page, a nice variety of reward tiers, and a good buildup among their fanbase before the kickstarter started so it should come as little surprise that it’s already passed its goal of $60k with $98k raised and 24 days to go.
The other kickstarter that caught my eye this week is Asylum. From the developer of Scratches, Asylum is a point & click horror adventure game. I haven’t played Scratches but it had decent reviews so if nothing else, this is a developer that probably knows what they’re doing. I find it especially interesting how the kickstarter is using the fact that the game has been approved on Steam Greenlight as a major selling point. Asylum is currently at $23k of their $100k goal with 26 days to go so this one could go either way.
That’s it for this week’s kickstarter report!
Sometime this week, Power Up launched. It’s a straight forward SHMUP, but it has quite a long history and is basically a guy teaching himself game dev since a few years. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2059856091/power-up-the-modern-retro-shmup-for-xbox
You should check out the Rivet Wars kickstarter. It’s a board game designed to have the same feel as an RTS. They have a lot of support and are currently trying to hit a stretch goal of $450k. Their original goal was $25k. No typos here. Come support it! The $150 pledge is a great value.
Actually, I did see the ROAM project and was considering mentioning it but then completely forgot about it today.
Maybe I’ll bring it up next week.
Did you see the ROAM game project, set up by some ex-Gas Powered Games folks and surpassing their 40k goal with a quickness.
Makes an interesting side-story to the “Wildman” project.
