Here’s a project I missed earlier – A Hat in Time is a N64-style 3D collectathon platformer. I know some people complain that indie developers make too many 2D platformers and not enough 3D platformers; well, this one is already looking really good. It’s at $156k with 6 days left to go.
Armikrog is another project that I almost missed. It’s a clay-style adventure game from Doug TenNapel and the creators of The Neverhood and will feature the voice of Michael J. Nelson (MST3K, Rifftrax) and others. It’s at $609k of its $900k goal with 5 days to go so these last few days should be intense.
Megatokyo is one of the better known webcomics to find early success and now they’re on kickstarter to fund a Megatokyo Visual Novel. It’ll feature multiple playable characters and if they get enough money, they’ll add additional content beyond the comic. If they reach half a million, they’ll even add “Excessively Romantic Content.” I know Megatokyo had a huge fanbase a while ago, but even so, I’m impressed that they’ve managed to raise over $100k in just a few days for a visual novel. The project currently has 27 days remaining so I’m interested to see just how high it reaches.
Finally, we have Soul Saga – a 3D RPG reminiscent of the Evolution series on the Dreamcast. The game footage is off to a promising start and the project has raised half of its $60k goal with 23 days left to go. I am a little worried that $60k is on the low side for an RPG with 3D visuals of this quality but I wish them luck and would love to give it a try when it gets completed.
That’s it for this week!
Kickstarted – The documentary about crowd funding that helped to uncover the Kobe Beef Jerky scam is in its final 3 days. It’s at $45k/$85k goal and needs some help.
It features interviews with Brad Muir, Brian Fargo, Amanda Palmer, Zach Braff and a lot more.

Here’s another one that you seem to have missed, GoD Factory: Wingmen. A competitive space battle sim. It looks like it could be really awesome even if it seems like it might not be funded. Maybe you can help with that by posting about it.

I backed A Hat in Time a few weeks back. That game looks great! I just backed Soul Saga as well.
