New Kickstarters

Awesomenauts: Starstorm – $99k ($125k goal). About 1900 backers. 25 days left. Expansion pack for the side-scrolling MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) Awesomenauts. Tried the original PS3 version thanks to getting it free from PS+ and I thought it was pretty fun. The base goal isn’t too exciting (highlights are 3 new characters & a spectator mode) but some of the stretch goals are fun (like custom game options at $275k).

U55 – End of the Line – $23k ($115k goal). About 300 backers. 26 days left. Lovecraftian horror game that takes place in the Berlin subways.

Video Games Live: Level 3 – $117k ($250k goal). About 2200 backers. 20 days left. New album from the video game concert event of the same name.

Elementary, My Dear Holmes! – $44k ($50k goal). About 600 backers. 20 days left. Point & click adventure game starring Watson with Sherlock Holmes as the sidekick. Besides an amusing concept, I think this one’s interesting in that it’s receiving decent funding despite being participating in Ouya’s kickstarter exclusivity program.

Crowdfunding Tip of the Week

Make sure to have a tier in the $10-$20 range that includes a digital copy of your game. Any less than that and you’re hurting your chances to make enough money whereas any more than that and you’re liable to scare away potential backers (although you may find success at as high as $25 if you’ve got some serious star-power behind your project).

  1. Hey Zeboyd! Thanks for the shout-out about our game “Revolution 60”! (And thanks to all our fans and the Kickstarters who supported us!). We still have a few hours left – our Kickstarter ends at around 10:45 in the morning Eastern time. And since we’ve passed our stretch goals, anyone who pledges $20 or more will get both the PC and the Mac versions! Hurrah! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spacekat/bring-revolution-60-to-pc-and-mac

So thanks again, Zeboyd, for the shout-out!
