New Kickstarters

The Long Dark – $63k CAD ($200k CAD goal). About 2280 backers. 25 days left to go. First-person survival apocalypse game minus the typical supernatural horror element. Various industry veterans.

DCS WWII: Europe 1944 – $89k ($100k goal). About 1280 backers. 14 days left to go. Flight sim. Interesting in that it’s a F2P game which usually don’t do well on kickstarter. Plus, flight sims are a rare breed these days.

Pocket Rumble – $6k ($16k goal). About 280 backers. Only 29 hours left. 2D Fighting game with Neo Geo Pocket Color-style visuals. Love how it seems to be designed to give a traditional fighting game experience but make it more accessible to non-hardcore players (with things like the frame data bar). Really hope this one makes it although it’ll need to see a big surge at the end since it only has a little over a day left.

Citizens of Earth – $600 ($100k goal). About 20 backers. 29 days left. Turn-based Parody JRPG with a modern setting. Looks like a fun game (think it’s interesting how they’re handling MP with a low maximum & many abilities that restore MP in-combat). Off to a slow start; hope they can pick up momentum.

Cosmic Star Heroine Kickstarter Progress Report

Shot live-action footage for our kickstarter video this week. Still working on editing the video & putting the final touches on the kickstarter page. We’ll let you know when we’ve submitted the project to Kickstarter (hopefully next week) and of course, when it goes live.

  1. Thanks for reminding me of Shantae. Just backed it. Think the game will look awesome on the Wii U. Colorful games like it are the entire reason I am going Wii U this holiday instead of one of the big 2.

  2. Been waiting for your own kickstarter for a while now. I’ll be one of the first to back it (and also the first kickstarter I’ve felt strongly enough to support). Just curious about the tiers you plan to implement. Willing to spend a bit to get this rolling!

  3. If we’re talking about Kickstarter first impressions: Pocket Rumble seems too much like they ripped the sprites and edited them instead of actually drawing themselves. If you have any familarity with the Neo Geo Pocket fighting games the first image you see had the Terry Bogard sprite mixed with the hair from Leona with none/little of there own work. Its not a very good first imperssion. At least for me it wasn’t. There’s a difference between spritework that looks similar, or influenced by a style, and what just looks like bad edits – and on first impression this seems to fall into the latter.

That’s the meanest I’ve ever sounded. Sigh.
