Hey everyone! Bill Stiernberg here.
This week I received the other half of the art trade I did with fyrefoxz of Shadowdawn: his rendition of October from CSTW.
I also really wanted to do something with a clean art style, so I chose to do some fan art of the pretty-popular game, Ni No Kuni:
Ni no Kuni is a PS3 (and Nintendo DS in Japan) RPG that revolves around thirteen-year-old Oliver, who faces sudden tragedy in his life. As Oliver cries, his tears cause his doll to reveal itself as a fairy creature named Drippy. He gives Oliver a book that allows him to use magic and enter “Ni no Kuni,” a world parallel to Oliver’s reality.
This is a really beautiful RPG for the PS3. The PS3 version recently got a release in the US, to much acclaim. The game is by Level 5 and Studio Ghibli, a pretty great combination of companies to produce a great playing and looking RPG. It’s a wonderful game if you enjoy fairly traditional JRPGs.
Gotta love that Studio Ghibli style they have going on. So it was fun to draw, hope you like it! Click on the pic for a bigger version or link to download.
So last week I posted an art trade I did with fyrefoxz. I drew up a character, Arashi, from his forthcoming game Shadowdawn Genesis.
This week, he sent me his part of the trade: October from CSTW! October’s a pretty popular character from that game, and fyrefoxz’s pic is nicely done:
I like the color and lighting he chose for this, and he got all the details right. Great work 🙂
He also posted a version without the background for those curious here.
And of course you can download the higher res version from the DA page from the download link here.
All right, hope you enjoyed this week’s art post. I’m going to look into doing some more clean art style type stuff as well as some other painting techniques. We’ll see!
